A Spiritual House of Mission
A key part of our vision as a church

The house of God is a house on mission. At Christ Church, our desire is to be a community that overflows in good works of justice and mercy in our city and throughout the world. We also strive to be a household that raises up servant leaders to impact our neighborhoods and catalyze church planting throughout Wisconsin, for the “harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few” (Matthew 9:37).
While we continue to pour into our Pastoral Residency and build our vision for Global Missions, we have spent a lot of time thinking and praying about how God is calling us to reach the lost and the least in our midst. Scroll down to read about our strategic priorities for community outreach, and our current partnerships.

Strategic Priorities
Relationship vs. Transation
We prioritize organic, relational ministries and engagement rather than sending money or volunteering where we have no potential for connection. We come humbly, serving in a way that is dignifying and healthy both for those being served and for those serving.
Development vs. Relief
We prioritize development work over short-term relief projects, aiming to see patterns of oppression and poverty broken, and the next generation free to thrive. We serve patiently, recognizing that lasting transformation takes time.
Partnership vs. Patronage
We prioritize partnering with individuals and organizations that have knowledge and experience in areas where we are not the experts. We will select these partners with care, and invest in relationship with them for the sake of mutual trust and true partnership.
OUR PARTNERShips
Safe Families
Safe Families for Children (SFFC) Wisconsin connects vulnerable families to a network of support through family-like relationships with volunteers. Volunteers are trained and supported by SFFC staff as they provide support and resources to parents while they get back on their feet. What makes SFFC so unique is there are many volunteer roles in our Circle of Support, so everyone can do something! There's a great team of Christ Church folks already serving in this way, and we'd love for you to join. Find out more by contacting Anna McKay, the Program Manager for Dane County (and long-time member of Christ Church).
There are opportunities to serve if you live outside of Dane County as well!

Lighthouse Tutoring
Lighthouse Christian School offers bilingual Christian education for pre-K through middle school. This year we are helping out with their 5th grade homework club, from 3:45-4:45pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Volunteers provide 1:1 support with reading and other homework (math and/or writing). During this time, there will teachers facilitate the program and offer academic support to the other students in the session (Volunteers are not alone!) We are looking for volunteers who are willing to make this weekly commitment, and build relationships with the students and fellow workers.
Stay tuned for details, including volunteer orientation and program schedule dates.

Lighthouse ReSponse Team
Lighthouse is a bi-lingual, multi-ethnic church and school that we have built a growing friendship with over the years. Since 2024, we have a team of people who support Lighthouse families in need, by acquiring and delivering household items including furniture, linens, dishes and more. We use a tool called CarePortal to keep track of the requests. The team is composed of several different roles:
- Providers help find the required items, either through donations or at stores,
- Runners help pick up and move stuff (having a larger vehicle is really helpful!)
- Connectors are the face to face contact with the recipients (speaking Spanish is important for this role).

Yada
Yada is a fair trade and resale shop, and gathering space helping women who have been trafficked move from surviving to thriving. The Hebrew word Yadá means “to be known.” There are several ways you can get involved in supporting Yada:
If you're interested in learning more about human trafficking, what it looks like in the Madison area, and how organizations like Yada are fighting it, reach out to Dcn. Kaitlyn below. We'll keep you posted about any future info sessions.
- Shop at the store (2620 Parmenter Street, Middleton) - you can find clothing, gifts, and (very soon) coffee, sourdough & flowers
- Volunteer – build relationships with the women, help with events, fix cars, whatever you're good at! Learn more.
- Donate – clothing for all ages & all sizes, home goods and furniture.

Memorial High School
Vel Phillips Memorial High School is where we meet on Sundays for worship, and we are also committed to supporting the school community in whatever ways they need. We are an official Adopt-A-School partner of Memorial. We have supported a student-led donation drive, and teamed up with the in-school branch of Summit CU for a faculty appreciation event. We're looking forward to investing more in this partnership to bless the school that has been so hospitable to us. Keep an ear out for opportunities throughout the year, or email Dcn. Kaitlyn to learn more.
